AMALIA ANGELLINNI is a friend of us and we really appreciate her friendship. In the following days, her first book “Lovefool” will be published in German after already Polish translation :: “Lovefool – Głupiec w miłości” and English original version :: “Lovefool”. German title is :: “Lovefool – Der Narr der Liebe”. More over, her second book “Lovefool – I(m)mortal” will be published in English soon, as well.

AMALIA ANGELLINNI ist eine Freundin von uns und wir schätzen ihre Freundschaft wirklich sehr. In den folgenden Tagen erscheint ihr erstes Buch „Lovefool“ in Deutschland nach der polnischen Ausgabe :: “Lovefool – Głupiec w miłości” und der Orginalfassung auf Englisch :: “Lovefool”. Der deutsche Titel heißt :: “Lovefool – Der Narr der Liebe”. Darüber hinaus wird ihr zweites Buch „Lovefool – Im(m)ortal“ ebenfalls bald in Englisch erscheinen.

Deutschland JA, Polen NEIN – An polnische Politiker, Media, Bürger

 

Berlin, Deutschland, 20 Jahre später. Als ich die Feierlichkeiten zum 20. Jahrestag anschaute, freute ich mich (als Polin) wegen vielen polnischen und (als Europäerin) europäischen Akzenten. Ich bewunderte die Vorstellung Deutschlands für die ganze Welt. Ich lebe in diesem Land die Hälfte meines Lebens und manchmal fühle ich mich irgendwie „deutsch“, da ich mit Deutschland durch viele Erfahrungen, Menschen, Orte verbunden bin. Und ich habe mich geschämt. Berlin leuchtete, Berlin strahlte, bebte mit dem Geist der Freiheit. Gleich dachte ich an den polnischen, heimischen 4. Juni 1989 und seine Jubiläumsfeierlichkeiten in diesem Jahr. Verglichen mit Feierlichkeiten in Berlin waren die polnischen Zeremonien eher ein abgelöschtes Lagerfeuer, nicht mal Glühen. Aber historisch gesehen war der 4. Juni 1989 nicht weniger wichtig als der Fall der Mauer. Und Polen können doch feiern und Spaß haben, was man z. B. während der Majowkas (Feierlichkeiten zum 1. und 3. Mai) sieht. Meine Schlussfolgerung: Polen können und wollen nicht, sich zu präsentieren, sich um sich zu kümmern. Wir holen die Kastanien aus dem Feuer, dann fallen wir in den Sumpf der Streitigkeiten, des Lärms, Privatangelegenheiten.

 

 

Germany YES, Poland NO – To Polish politicians, media and citizens

Berlin, Germany, 20 years later

As I watched the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and I felt great because of many Polish symbols (as a Polish girl) and Europeans symbols (as European). I admired the presentation of Germany for the world. I live in this country already a half of my life and sometimes I even feel somehow „being German“, because I am connected with Germany through many experiences, people, places.

And I was ashamed. Berlin was sparkling; Berlin was shining and trembled with the spirit of freedom. Then, I thought about Polish, native 4th June 1989 and the celebrations of the anniversary in the last year. Compared to the celebration in Berlin, the Polish anniversary of 4th June was rather extinguished camp fire, not even glowing. However, in the history 4th June 1989 was not less important than the Fall of the Berlin Wall. And Polish people are indeed able to celebrate and having fun what you can see f.e. during Majowka (celebrations because of 1st and 3rd May).

My conclusion: Poland doesn’t want and can’t present itself and care about itself. We pull the chestnuts out of the fire and then we fall into the bog of conflicts, noises, private matters.

At least as good as Twilight – Amalia promotes her book „Lovefool“

Amalia called us, because she likes the idea of our project Scholar Europe. And we like her book ‘Lovefool’. We support young, European talents as far as it is possible for us.

Before the premiere of her book, I talked with Amalia about her book, her attitude towards life, Europe, and about her special fascination about Poland.

Bei der Wahl zum 17. Deutschen Bundestag am 27. September 2009 sind etwa 62,2 Millionen Deutsche wahlberechtigt. Davon sind 32,2 Millionen Frauen und 30 Millionen Männer. Die Zahl der Wahlberechtigten ist damit etwas größer als bei der Bundestagswahl 2005, als rund 61,9 Millionen Deutsche wählen durften.
